Why I hate Capsule Wardrobes

Hear me out...
To be honest, I think capsule wardrobes are kind of lazy a concept. It lacks originality and can make your closet super bland with only a few if any statement pieces that really shuzz up your closet and outfit. It think its better to focus on what you like wearing in terms of patterns, shapes, and fabrics and put that into a uniform formula.
Ie Date nights you like to wear florals and solids with ruffles and chiffon or silk. Your airport outfit always consists of heather grey, knitwear, in joggers, two piece sets, light breathable fabrics like cotton or linen depending on where you are traveling to and from. Having a basic uniform can take the guess work out of what you want to wear, which i think is part of the purpose of a capsule wardrobe, while also maintaining your own individual style Nd being able to add more pieces that will fit into your uniform. You can quickly go through your tracker excel sheet or your closet feeling confident you have the qualities your looking for that will match your uniform you need for the day or task at hand.
Capsules while timeless because they are bland and lack diversity to help with making lots of pairs, but Id argue you can really do that with non capsule wardrobe if you don't wear clothes as intended. I have a shawl that I have warn as a skirt, scarf, head scarves, shawl, belt, and necktie all because I can see the potential in the item in different places instead of taking a plain solid color or neutral scarf and pairing it with multiple things in my closet, the shawl has served in more ways than one because of its construction and material. Mesh is pretty flexible and doesn't nicely when stretched and manipulated, which is a good indicator it can turn into something else if its malleable. You don't need plain basics to be versatile if you look at each piece of clothing for its other qualities.
